But not just any diving: muck diving. What is muck diving? It’s a dive experience that defines the mud and mire that lay at the bottom of many dive sites. It is here where the treasures are found. Doesn’t sound like fun, huh? Just wait and see. With over two dozen muck dive sites, divers can find an abundance of unusual macro critters. Blue-ring octopus, Wonderpus, Mimic octopus, Poison ocellate octopus, Ambon scorpionfish, Flamboyant cuttlefish, Bluespotted stingray, nudibranch, and many species of frogfish are frequently encountered in the area. There is something new and bizarre to discover on every single dive.

Muck dives are conducted via boat. Atmosphere Resorts & Spa house reef is accessed by shore entry.

A week filled with only muck and macro isn’t everyone’s ideal dive vacation. Luckily there are fantastic wide-angle dive opportunities as well. Apo Island, which is included in the territory of Dauin, is a 178-acre volcanic outcrop located six miles from the resort. Apo is completely surrounded by coral reefs, essentially making the whole island a giant dive site. Big-eyed jacks, turtles, Bumphead parrotfish and sea snakes inhabit the reefs along the island. Schooling jacks and barracuda can also be spotted at Apo.

Standard week-long dive packages often only include one day trip to Apo Island. Not Seasick. Unlimited Apo Island day trips are included in the package.
